Abstract In earlier days, the only way to resist lateral loads was increase strength of structure obtained by making larger cross sections and massive buildings. To reduce effect seismic energy, structural forms used outrigger. years, supplementary devices are installed into outrigger so that damping increases helps mitigating vibration, this concept called damped study, a replicating St. Francis Shangri-La Place skyscraper excited for El-Centro earthquake, Kobe earthquake numerically modeled with viscous dampers Magneto-Rheological damper compare its effectiveness.
